Hi Jack - just bought a used copy of "Demons..." - the only piece of your early work I didn't already have. I sat in with you at Rose's Cantina in Bozeman long ago, on flugel. Also caught you at the Stock Exchange in Billings, and I recorded some of those great sessions with Bob, Kelly, & Brad at Silver Dollar Bar in Butte. Hope all's well with you...

I am trying to purchase the mp3 of "The Lord's Calypso" from your Master of Suspense CD, but it is not listed for individual sale. I have purchased this chart already from ejazzlines.com and I would really like to have the sound file as well.

Best.

Just thought I'd say hey. I Googled my name and you came up. Thought it ironic that in high school, I played coronet. In my teens, twenties I played bass in a rock band(no-one famous). I'm 54 and a truck driver now. I go thru MT occasionally. Maybe I'll look ya up next time. Cool jams. Later man :)

thanks for approving me Jack! You have a very cool group.

Myself and another guy run a small music store in Denver, Colorado that specializes in trumpets (and accordions, trombones, and tubas). We would never spam your group but wanted to ask you if you know of any Facebook groups for trumpet players where we could advertise some vintage trumpets we have for sale.

Here's a great condition 1952 King Model 20 we made a short video of:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=s 8J1Owvjz04&feature=youtu.be

Let us know your thoughts on any resources where we could market these cool old horns we have for sale. We have tons of great old horns from the 1920's through modern day in all brands and styles. We even have an echo trumpet for sale!

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give

warm regards from the rocky mountain state,

B. Dutch Seyfarth

I meant to say "I went hypocrite against all of my friendly youthful VIEWS". On maybe June 13, 2011, I passed through Billings, Montana, on a bus ticket from Seattle, WA, to Springfield, MA, from where I walked down to work on a farm near Broad Brook, CT.

In 1974 I drove a car from Connecticut to Chicago. I had _Mingus Moves_ on cassette tape, and I enjoyed playing it as I drove west, hoping to catch-up to my future wife. In Chicago I saw the Mingus quintet at The Quiet Knight two nights in a row. Hamiet Bluiette (however spelled) had replaced the _Mingus Moves_ trumpet player, and I looked forward to hearing new albums by the band. The second side of _Changes Two_, with Jack Walrath replacing Hamiett, was one of my favorite sides ever. In 1974-75 I was down here to Florida doing winter work, and then I returned to Connecticut. After a while, I heard the Mingus Quintet with Ricky Ford and Jack Walrath at the Village Gate in New York City, and then they came up to Hartford to perform at Bushnell Hall. JATP had recorded at Bushnell Hall during the week in 1953 when I was born at nearby St Francis Hospital, as if they were welcoming me into the world ("Just Arrived: Toddler Proccacino!"). As a young adult I was young and carefree... lost in Blues, Jazz, and Ragtime... I bought JW's _Demons in Pursuit_ at Integrity'n Music, but one day the demons who pursued me caught up to me. They emasculated me by needle-into-my-spine at the same Catholic hospital where I was born (maybe they were enforcing Muslim law?) and then I went hypocrite against all of my friendly youthful vuews. After that, the music went out of my life. I never did catch up to that future wife, and now I'm 59 with no wife, no children, no house, no car. Jack's music reminds me of a happier time.

Jack, I lost my address book a long time ago. Hope to hear from you. Hope you are great. I am fine and would love to hear from you. Send me a shout. Just saw Arturo O'Farrell here in SD with a friend and saw Jim Seeley -- suppose you know him. Big hugs Jack

Jack, had an opportunity to listen to some or your CD tracks. Wow...impressive.
Too bad you chose to leave MMA. I think that we would have made one heck of a one-two punch in the band and jazz combo.
All the best...

Hello Jack, Went to school with you in Edgar and even remember a party at your house. Where did you get the picture of Edgar's main street and when was it taken? Congrats on your musical successes.
Jack Walrath writes:
Wow! How long ago was that?
I hardly ever go to my website. Because I haven't answered before shows that!
Lucille Schumm (remember her, the postmaster?) gave me that. There are also two others from slightly different times.
I read that the founder of Edgar wanted one town in Montana that DIDN'T have a bar in it!
Of course, that is the only business left! They even tore down my dad's elevators!
The bar has been expanded because, it is now a popular steakhouse in the area.
I heard about that in Billings.
Where are you and what do you do?

Hello, Jack,
I wonder if you remember recording some tunes up at Tommy Walters' in Watertown, with the LaBarbara Brothers, Bruce Cale, anc Mike Hughes. I have an LP of it that Tommy (now deceased) gave me years ago. I have followed your career with great interest ever since!
Best wishes, Barry
